In 2015 parents in Skagit, Whatcom, San Juan and Northern Snohomish were counties looking for quality education for their children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
These parents and families, together with support from both the Deaf and hearing communities, formed a true grassroots movement to establish a private school that celebrates a different approach to excellence in deaf education within a high-quality, high expectation environment so students can “Achieve More!”
An environment where Deaf students are not the ones who are “different” in a sea of many, but where they ARE the many. Immersed in a rich academic and social community that is 100% accessible from the minute they walk through the doors, to the minute they leave. A celebration of identity, academics, and bilingualism (American Sign Language and English), provides each student the confidence and sense of empowerment needed to advance their individual skills.
